Times have changed...
The Stone Age cave man has evolved and transformed... we are in the digital space age, exploring new frontiers beyond the edge of space.
Human kind is the most intelligent species on the planet. Evolving rapidly, we have become innovative intuitive and multi sensory.
The past 50 years in the earth's history have been the most progressive historical and tumultuous. In our ignorance we have caused irreparable damage to the planet.
In our greed for more we have exploited, plundered and abused the natural resources of the planet.
Our greed-driven activities have changed the face of the earth, plummeting it into a serious crisis...
The illusion of wealth and power created by a greed driven world has disappeared overnight, the economic meltdown has taken a toll. Many Global giants have collapsed, many more will join the ranks, but the greatest damage has been to the environment and wildlife. Unfortunately Mother Earth has paid the price.
We have to understand that the earth is a living organism and like all living organisms retaliating to protect itself. Climate change, Global warming, Cyclones, Tsunamis are all wake up calls/warning signs...
Our actions, despite being the most intelligent species on earth, have fractured the fragile chain that binds and holds all life together.
The earth needs help to heal itself... our help.
Paradox is that we are also the only species that has the capacity to reverse the damage…
The efforts of all those contributing towards that healing are crucial.
The efforts and contribution of the artists here today, and some of them who have traveled long distances to be here, is both inspiring and heartening.
With such support one is moved to say that there is hope for the Earth and…. We all…our children will have a future.
We are one of the youngest species on Earth and still at an infantile stage.
Compared to other life on Earth we are like 3 year old infants still growing, still learning from our mistakes. We have a lot of learning to do.
I only hope we learn our lessons in time and before we tip the balance and push the earth into a tailspin towards extinction...
It is a matter of great pride that the Planet has such sensitive and concerned bravehearts and Eco Warriors like you from all across the world.
You have given this meeting the most precious thing in life: Your Time... to speak out...and to reach out
Raised your voice and worked to protect Nature... I am touched by your concern and deep commitment. Let us all intensify our efforts, however small they may seem, to keep on working to meet the challenges of the coming days. I can assure you, we shall prevail.
TellusArt is a unique concept, it has come at a time when there was an urgent need to reach out to take reverence and conservation of nature to yet another level, another dimension.
